While
answering the queries of his fans in a popular Tamil magazine,
Santhanam faced a question on who he considers to be his guru in the
film industry. To this, he had replied that it is none other than
Silambarasan.
Elaborating on why he considers him as his guru, the comedian said that it was STR who gave him the opportunity to star in a movie for the first time and it would have been impossible for him to have entered the film industry without Silambarasan’s guidance.
It may be recalled that Santhanam’s debut film was Manmadhan in 2004, which had STR playing the lead role.
