Looks like releasing a single track before the audio launch is becoming a habit for Simbu. After all, the method was a super success for Vaanam when he released the charbuster Evan Dee Onna Pethan… as a single. Now, he is hoping to repeat the same magic with Osthi Maamu…, the title song in his Dabangg remake, Osthi. Unit sources say the song will be released as a single track by next week, along with a teaser trailer. Talking about the song, the film’s composer Thaman says, “Osthi Maamu… is the intro song in the film and has been sung by Baba Sehgal. Ranjith, Rahul Nambiar, Naveen and I have provided the backing vocals. It is a peppy mass number, which is sure to become a chartbuster, especially with kids. Vaali sir’s lyrics and Simbu’s dance will be the highlight.” Meanwhile, we hear that the composer has finally recorded the song that everyone wants to hear — the Tamil version of the item number Munni Badnaam Hui…. However, all that Thaman is willing to say on the song at the moment is that it is sung by a “very special person”.

Silambarasan aka STR is sometimes impatient, sometimes temperamental and sometimes impulsive.

He had proved once again with Vaanam that his phenomenal star power is simply un parallel. It is his child like vulnerability that strikes you the most, when you speak to him.

He may give the ‘I’m-casual-about-my-work’ vibe but there would be no compromises when it comes to work, even if that means shooting all night long without breaks.

The actor will be singing two songs in this film that is set to release a single soon

First it was Evandi Unne Petthan… from  Vaanam. Then it was Vilayadu Mankatha… from  Mankatha. Now, it is Vosthi starring Simbu and Richa Gangopadhyay, which will have a single track being  released, well before the official
audio launch of the film. Confirming the news, Thaman, the music director of the film, says, “Yes. We will be releasing the title track of the film shortly — possibly within a week or so. The song is in the postproduction stage.” Simbu, who is known to croon a number in almost all his films, will be singing in Vosthi as well. A source confirms to CT that Simbu will be singing two songs in this movie. “One will be a mass number and the other one will be a duet with Shreya Ghoshal,” the source adds. What remains to be seen however, is if Vosthi will have a Munni badnaam hui… number. “The team,” Thaman informs, “even considered dubbing the same song to Tamil. However,
I refused. I wanted some fresh tunes, something that would suit the Tamil sensibilities. Essentially, we looked at creating a mass appeal.” Ask him if this is the mass song that Simbu is to croon and he remains tightlipped, saying that he wants it to be a surprise.

Single track audio releases seem to have become the fad of the day in Tamil cinema, what with a number of leading films releasing promotional audio tracks before the actual audio DVD hits the stands, thus creating more expectations than ever.

Grapevine has it that STR's forthcoming film, 'Osthi', will join this league and will see a one track audio release! The tunes for 'Osthi' are composed by Thaman and the megaphone for this action-packed entertainer is wielded by Dharani.

It may be mentioned that Simbu's previous film, 'Vaanam', had seen a single song release as well and it was well-received by fans and music lovers. The original film, 'Dabaang' in Hindi, had a smashing item number, 'Munni Badnaam Hui...', and expectations are high to see the remake of this number and fans are eager to know who will reprise this hot song in Simbu's film.

The talkie portion's shoot has been wrapped up and the film features Simbu and Richa Gangopadhyay in lead roles, with Jithan Ramesh, Saranya Mohan, Revathy and Sonu Sood in pivotal roles...

Simbuworld Team Celebrating 100 days of Success of STR's VAANAM.

His performance in Vaanam might have been well received, but Bharath is peeved about the publicity that he was denied during the promos of the film. "I've not been honoured," the actor says, "I've done a multi-starrer before (Pattiyal) and director Vishnuvardhan had ensured that both the actors in the film got due recognition in terms of publicity." According to him, that wasn't the case for Vaanam. "People loved my character and I learnt a lot while working on the film. But, what matters at the end of the day is your face on the publicity material and I'm unhappy that my count is low. To be frank, there was almost nothing!" So, did he get a chance to speak to producer Ganesh and actor Simbu? "Yes," he says, "And they said they'll do the promotions for me as well but I could see only one face in the posters and publicity material of the film. To some extent, I could talk to them but beyond a limit, I did not want to lose my self-respect as well. Now, I just want people to know that I'm not against multi-starrers but Vaanam is a sad phase of my career because of the lack of publicity.

It looks like Silambarasan is going through a winning spree as his films are gaining him more accolades. On the dot, his career was slightly dwindling with his ‘mass-image’ factor and a surprising turn with ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’ as his career touched the best levels. His recent release ‘Vaanam’ emerged as a winner amongst audiences and is regarded as one of the best films of this decade. The actor has got himself enlightened choosing unique scripts that are completely different from each film. Say for instance, ‘Poda Podi’ that is scheduled for release by next couple of months is touted to be a breezy romantic entertainer. While ‘Osthi’ is a solid commercial entertainer (remake of Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’) and ‘Vettai Mannan’ is a crime-thriller shot extensively across various parts of the globe. The teaser of ‘Vettai Mannan’ involves the delineation of Silambarasan’s character as a sharpshooter. The film will travel through the unexplored maps of Underworld.

Post 'Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya' we all are aware about the friendship between Simbu and the now popularly known 'VTV' Ganesh. The chemistry between Simbu and Ganesh has worked well for this pair on and off screen too, because we saw Ganesh, who was one of the producers of the film also bag a role as Simbu's companion in 'Vaanam.'

Simbu is working full throttle in director Dharani's 'Osthi', the remake of Bollywood's 'Dabangg', a cop story, but with a difference. While some are wondering if Ganesh will be seen in a pivotal role in 'Osthi' too, here comes this piece of news to all those who are eager to know...

Reports are doing the rounds that Ganesh will be seen in a prominent role in this upcoming Simbu film.
He will be reprising the role done by Mahesh Manjerekar in 'Dabangg' as the drunken father of the heroine. Sources have also suggested that the film's comic track will be done by Simbu and Ganesh. They have proved their timing with comedy in their earlier films. In 'Osthi' too this duo sure needs to be watched out for!

'Osthi' will have Simbu as the cool cop with Richa playing his female lead. The first phase of the filming is going on in Mysore at a Brisk pace.

For all you fans of the hit musical, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, here’s some good news. The team that gave us the 2010 blockbuster is coming together again for the sequel to the Simbu-Trisha starrer. Speaking exclusively to DC, STR says, “I am thrilled. The sequel will be titled Vinnaithaandi Varuvein. When we were shooting the climax for VTV, Gautham and I joked about a sequel to the film. After that I got busy with other commitments and suddenly Gautham came up with the idea of a sequel and I couldn’t be more delighted.”

The actor who has his hands full with Osthi, Poda Podi, Vettai Mannan, can’t wait to start work on the new project. So will we see Trisha reprise her role as Jessie? The actor answers, “While I will be playing Karthik again, this time Amy Jackson will play the female lead.” Amy is also slotted to play the female lead in the Hindi remake of the original, alongside Prateik Babbar. However, the two films will not be shot simultaneously and shooting for the Tamil sequel will start only in November, when Simbu will be done with his other projects.

VTV 2 that is slated for a summer release in 2012 will also have Santhanam in a major role, while VTV Ganesh is also part of the star cast. While VTV received attention for being a beautiful love story, the sequel, says Simbu, won’t be much of a romantic tearjerker. “The sequel is going to be an action film. I am sure fans will love it,” he says. So will Karthik be victor in love this time around? Simbu answers, “The script is in place, but the climax hasn’t been finalised as yet. But I do hope that Karthik walks into the sunset with his lady love.”
Simbu, who has in the recent past made a conscious effort to play a variety of roles, is happy with the way his career is shaping up.

Quiz him on the mixed reactions that Vaanam received and trade pundits dubbing it an average grosser, Simbu says, “ Vaanam gave my career a big boost. For me it’s no longer about giving a commercial hit. I look for audience appreciation and every effort I make is to ensure that they love me in the role. My fans loved Cable Raja. I want to keep my fans happy and not score one blockbuster hit after another.”

About juggling more than four productions simultaneously, Simbu says, “I’ve never worked like this before. Earlier, I would complete a film and only then take on another project. I understand that a number of directors want to work with me and I am doing my best to accommodate them. I don’t want to miss out on any opportunity. People want to see me on the silver screen and I shall fulfill that wish.”

With his career going great guns, is the 25-year-old Simbu looking to settle down? He laughs, “My mother wants me to get married. But honestly I am happy being single. My work keeps me busy and I am enjoying the status quo.” So will the coveted bachelor wait for love? “I can’t possibly be scouting for love. If it (love) happens, I will certainly pursue it,” he smiles with a glint in his eye.

Vettai Mannan’s Director Nelson along with his friends  also came for the preview. It should be said for a preview the noise made for simbu’s name on the screen was superb. And for every santhanam’s sleezy oneliner we could see premji shouting and clapping proving the cohesiveness of artisits of tamil cinema.
We could see a lot of girs cheering for evandi unna pethan song which is literally a treat to eyes with simbu’s expressions! During the intreval many already wished STR that this film will be the best in his career but after the second half and the climax not many could not see STR properly as the tears masked their vision!. But the thing was even STR cried after climax..
But the reason for his tears should be different , for all the problems he has faced over the days this response should make him feel really happy and he comprehended it with tears..

STR delighted with the positive comments by the censor board officials. One of a lady official said that she never expected  STR  to have done this role and that it will take him to new heights and congragulated the vaanam team u/a  really our str fans awaiting to rock n cinemas .
