Simbu had partly directed 'Manmadhan' and had made his debut as a
full-fledged director through 'Vallavan', and both the films tasted
success at the box-office and the former proved a landmark film in his
career. This was especially because of the script and concept which
received a warm welcome among audience.
When Simbu announced that his pet project, 'Kettavan' will go on
floors next year and will have him play the lead and direct the
megaphone, a question that was raised by many was whether 'Kettavan'
will be a sequel to 'Manmadhan'. What paved way for this doubt was that
while 'Manmadhan' involved a hero on a killing spree, 'punishing'
ungrateful women, the 'Kettavan' posters too had an animal approach to
it, showcasing an angry Simbu.
However, Simbu has rubbished it but admitted that it will not be a
sequel but will follow a similar style of filmmaking. The songs are
composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and a teaser song byte that released
quite sometime back, 'Yennada Nadakuthu...' is already popular.
Simbu is currently busy with work on 'Osthi', 'Podaa Podi' and 'Vettai Mannan'.
